We were never meant to navigate our neurodivergent selves from the outside
WRITING + WORKSHOPS BY ANA MARÍA B. CALL, MA
Hi, I'm Ana María
I'm a 2E (gifted + autistic) linguist, interculturalist, and former civil rights worker.
I explore how we can integrate neurodivergence as a culture and, in so doing, create a vibrant home for our identity and develop a radically empowering compass for navigating life, outside of the medical model.
I also teach an intercultural approach to neurodivergent communication, so gifted, autistic, and 2E adults can grow beyond masking, and become confident, skillful communicators.
about my work
Most frameworks for neurodivergent experience are built by people looking in. They describe what’s observed from the outside, measure what diverges from the norm, and offer strategies for managing the gap.
This work begins somewhere different...it begins by learning to look and navigate, first, from within.

"We cannot live securely in a world which is not our own, in a world which is interpreted for us by others.
An interpreted world is not a home.
Part of the terror is to take back our own listening, to put our ears to our own inner voices, to see our own light, which is our birthright, and comes to us in silence."
